Cotte de Maille is a metal ‘sequin’ fluid mesh, composed of 100% aluminium. It is fashioned using interlinking pieces, and due to its light weight, it hangs like a fabric.

Cotte de Maille is made from flat-backed ‘sequins’ and rings. Each sequin has four legs, that fold back onto the rings to make a firm connection, creating a smooth fluid metal mesh fabric. Due to the manufacturing method, it is easy to manipulate and has a satisfying drape. There are many different colours, finishes, sizes and various shapes – including round, hexagonal & octagonal – available. Cotte de Maille does not rust, is fire-proof and shrink-proof, easy to maintain and easy to clean.

Cotte de Maille is available in 30 base variations, in fluid plaque format, in 40 cm x 140 cm and with a weight of 1.1 kg/m2. The plaques can also be soldered during production to create larger formats if necessary. When you order samples this month, you will receive one sample in gold and one in silver, as shown here, with 4 mm flat octagonal sequins.

Due to the delicate nature of Cotte de Maille’s composition, it is ideally suited to all types of decoration, PLV, windows, photoshoots and backdrops. It can also be used in hospitality and interiors for lamp decoration, wall decoration, ceilings, curtains, space dividers and more.
